部屋作り／ I made up my room

任地のワに着きました

ワにいる協力隊隊員が住む
”ワハウス”と呼ばれる一軒家があり
ここに私も２年間住むことになっています

同居人は３名で、
本邸に女性３名
離れに男性１名の計４名でシェアします

同居人達は、現在全員旅行中のため
１週間は一人暮らし

I arrived my assignment city, Wa.
I live in a house called "Wa-house" with other JOCV for 2 years.
3 women live in the main residence and 1 man lives in the annex.
They are all traveling on holiday.
So I live here by myself.


今日は部屋作りをしました

以前、先輩隊員が使っていた部屋はその後封印され
クモの巣やホコリなどが・・・
朝７時から格闘すること１０時間
とりあえず見えている部分はなんとか綺麗にしました

Today, I cleaned and made up my room.

Old JOCV used my room before and
after she left the room, nobody came in the room.
There are many cobwebs and dusts.




クローゼットとベッドと机があり、
壁と床が白っぽいので結構すっきりしています

ベッドに蚊帳をつけなきゃなので、引き続き頑張ります

There are closet, bed and desk.
Wall and floor are whitish and looks simple.

I have to put a mosquito net.





壁にはガーナに来た直後に路上で購入した絵を
（値切りまくって３cedi＝￥１８０で購入）

I put a painting which I bought on the street soon after I came to Ghana.
(３cedi＝￥１８０)





ワハウスでは日本で言うイーモバイル的な
ＵＳＢモデムがあり、
結構サクサクとインターネットが出来ます

I can use USB modem and I can access internet high-speed in "Wa-house".

オリエンテーション終了

ガーナに到着して約１ヶ月続いたオリエンテーションが
やっと終わりました

長かった・・・

１ヶ月でガーナの服を入手しました。
現在２着もってます。
通常布を買って好みの形の服に仕立ててもらいます。
でも私はまだ仕立ててもらってません。


１着はホストファミリーからプレゼントして頂きました。


もう１着は隊員向けフリーマーケットで既製品を購入。



明日首都アクラを出発し任地へ向かいます。
本赴任。
バスで６時間かけて途中の都市で１泊、
さらに翌日バスで７時間かけてワに。
２回目の移動なので、不安はない。

あと２３ヶ月ガーナで生活かあ、
正直、まだ実感が湧かないのだけど、
そんなことは言ってられない・・・

行ってきます！

ホームステイ最終日／Last day of homestay program

ホームステイプログラムが今夜で終わります。
２週間のホームステイや職場についての
プレゼンをこれからすべく、
原稿書いたりパワポで資料作ったり
久しぶりに何かに追われてみました。
こちらで職場やホストファミリーに向けて
英語でプレゼンをし、
首都のＪＩＣＡ事務所でもう一度プレゼンします。
その様子はカメラで録画され、
日本での訓練でお世話になった
ＮＴＣの英語の先生へ届けられて
コメントがつけられて返ってくるらしく。

がんばりま〜す
明日の朝首都アクラへ再び旅立ちます。

I have to make a presentation about homestay life and my office.
I wrote a draft and made a power-point data.
It was first busy day in a long while.
Today, I'll make a presentation to co-workers and hostfamily,
and I'll do it again at JICA office in Accra.
JICA staff will film my presentation and they'll send the tape to NTC teacher.
Then, NTC teacher will check it and give me some comment...

I'll do my best.
I'll leave Wa to Accra (the capital of Ghana) tomorrow morning.

かなり大きな市場

動物売り場（食用、家畜用）

生活用品売り場

服売り場

などなど、生活に必要な物はなんでも買えそうです





I went to Wa Market.
Local people buy everything here.
It's huge market.

and so on.....
We can buy everything we want.

任地ワに来ました！／I arrived in my assignment city, Wa!

任地ワに来ました！
ワは暑いです。

ワはアッパーウエスト州の州都で、
ある程度、街です。
でも、首都アクラと比べると全然発展はしてません。





２週間のホームステイプログラム中でして、
現地人宅で生活しております。




かわいい部屋を与えてもらっております。




９才と３才の男の子がいて、毎日遊んでます。



現地語の授業も受けております。
ホストファミリー宅の勉強スペースでの授業。



ちょっと素敵でしょ？？



ご飯もすっかり現地食に慣れ、
すっかり右手で食べれるようになりました。




毎日職場に通っています。
保健省の事務所です。




清潔なオフィスで、冷房やファンが完備、
ワイヤレスインターネットもでき、
トイレも一部は水洗です。


とりあえず、元気にやっております★






I arrived in my assignment city, Wa!

It's very hot here.

Wa is the regional capital of Upper West Region.
Wa is a king of city.
But, it is much less developed than Accra, the capital city of Ghana.

I'm in two-weeks homestay program
and I'm living in the local family house.

My room.

There are 9-year-old boy and 3-year-old boy.
We are playing together.

I'm taking local language lessons
at study space of host family's house.
It's nice, isn't it?

I become accustomed to local food.
Now, I can eat food with right hand.

I go to my office everyday.
It's a regional office of the ministry of health.

It's a clean office and there are an air conditioner and a fan.
I can access the internet wirelessly.
Some toilets are flush toilets.

So far, I enjoy new life here★

小規模ビジネス／small business

首都アクラの企業の会社員や公務員などは
月給制の比較的裕福な生活を送っていますが、
やはり貧富の差はあります。

道ばたにはあちこちに屋台があったり




信号待ちや渋滞となると頭に様々な品物を載せ
商売をしている人がたくさんいます。



スーパーは限られた人しか立ち入らない場所。
人々の生活は、こういった路上の商店や物売りで成り立っています。

Some people in Accra, the capital of Ghana, who work for big company or as a public official can get monthly salary and they can live a relatively rich life.
But, there is the gap between the rich and the poor.

There are many stalls everywhere in the road-side.

When cars wait for the traffic light to change or get caught in a traffic jam,
people who put goods for sale on their head come to sell them.

Supermarkets is the place where only some people can go in.
Most people's life depends on such a stall or seller on the street.

There is a furniture store at a roadside.
They make furniture there.

They make FUFU ( a kind of staple food ) at the roadside.
They make FUFU as rice-cake making.
It's sticky and tastes good.


They fry kneaded maize.
1 piece 10 Pesewas (= 6 yen)
It's hot and tastes good.

kebab
1 piece 1 Ghana Cedi (= 60 yen)
Sticks are made of wood (hand-whittled)

Ice cream
1 piece 40 pesewas (= 24 yen)
Cut the edge of plastic bag and chew it.
It taste like Home-run-bar (Japanese ice cream).
