First impression & my life in Ghana

I arrived in Ghana!
Now I got free from many luggage.
It's a big pleasure.

My first impression of Ghana are...
(1) It's HOT!
But it's better than expected.

(2) Roads are paved.

There are traffic lights.
Drivers don't drive dangerous.
Traffic jams are not serious.
It's more serene than expected.

(3)Ghanian people are very frank.
I have proposed by 3 guys already!
(2 guys on the first day and 1 guy on the second day).

We, JOCV members have to attend orientation for 1 month to work 2 years safely.
Orientation programs are different depending on countries.
In case of Ghana, there are briefings about safety and health,
courtesy call to Embassy of Japan or to Vice President,
and 2 weeks homestay program to study local language.

We will stay 10 days in a hotel before the homestay program starts.
Usually during the orientation program, JOCV members stay in an accommodation called Domitory.
But now Domitory is just moving to new place, so we stay in the hotel (Penta Hotel).

In my hotel.......
A shower is supplied with hot water.
There is an air-conditioner in my room.
I can stay by myself.

I can use a wireless access to the web for free from my room.
It takes 1 minute from the hotel to a big supermarket where I can get almost everything what I want.

My life here is very comfortable!

Ghanian English is hard to listen for me.
But, thanks to passionate teachers and diligent classmates who I studied English with during 2 months training, I studied English hard and now I can communicate with Ghanian without any big problems.

  2. Ayu!
    Thanks for your comment!
